Unfortunately I've just lost the offside exhaust tip from my 996 Targa. It dropped off the car last weekend enroute to annual service...& didn't hear a thing!

Anyone out there have one...it is the chrome single oval type fitted OE on the 2002 996 Targa & other Carrera models.

Maybe someone out there has fitted after market & has an OE set of tailpipes sat in a garage?
Any help appreciated. Am looking on e bay & at the usual breakers aswell.

Also posted on wanted forum..thanks for reading.

Just had a thought are your ones with the small exhaust pipe included or just the tips, they are different between standard Carrera and C4S.

Brad

Thanks for your reply. Will be v interested if they are the right ones. Mine are oval chrome & clamp onto the exhaust down pipe.
I've posted a pic.

Dave.

Hi,
I think my tips are different from yours as there is no pipe attached and I have tried sending pictures but they keep coming back so don't know why.
996 C4S is only exhaust tips with no pipe attached.

Brad..thanks...you are right. Mine have the link up pipe attached so yours won`t fit. Thanks anyway!

Thanks..I suspect from the date of manufacture they are off a 3.4 & therefore may not fit a 3.6 car?

The part no listed by PORKA above is 996.111.252.59.

Maybe the good Mr Hamilton can advise please?

Dave S

Yes, Alan's are for a 3.4.

The difference between the 3.4 and 3.6 tips are that the pipes are a little longer on the 3.6, because the rear PU is a bit deeper.

Thanks Richard. Will the oval single chrome tail pipes off a 3.6 997 fit the 3.6 996?
Have a potential offer of a set at the right price.

Regards,

Dave

These guys do some really nice tips

http://www.porscheshop.co.uk/acatalog/porsche_996_performance_exhausts.html

Varying from 85.00 plus VAT Based in Birmingham close to the M5

Two cheaper types 996 3.4 and 3.6

Speak to them they may have a second hand original

Richard...thanks..they are fairly local to me & they fitted my Carnewal OE "tweaked" silencers a couple of years ago. It's the clamp they fitted that has rusted & let go but I will call them! Thanks. I will pursue the used 997 option I've been offered if I can get a steer they will fit. Should get a part no later today.

Dave

Richard,

Indeed! My new silencers were only fitted 2 years ago & the clamp gave up on the exhaust tip. Good news today as I've sourced an OE replacement free gratis..happy days. Just starting to prep for my annual Le Mans trip so want my car fully sorted for the trip.
Thanks for everyone's input.

They won't fit I'm afraid. The silencers and tail pipes are a different arrangement on the 997.
