Help please!

I need some help please. Our 924 is poorly and I dont seem to get many answers from the garage, except for money to be parted with!
We took her to the garage 3 weeks ago and was advised we needed another drive pump as the one one we had was moving about due to not having any collars fitted. I promptly went to a breakers yard who sold me another drive complete with collars and this was fitted to her. 2 days later I heard a grinding noise and my worse fears were confirmed, the drive pump! Apparently the middle thing was sliding out due to broken ball bearings.......so the mechanic fitted the original pump back on with the collars and all seemed ok, except last week the same thing happened again! Now we have taken the belt off to stop it coming off and deciding what to do!

Anybody got any ideas as to why this is happening? All advice greatly appreciated.

I dont know about the power steering pump but I would try asking on the 944 page as most of the steering bits are similar - and I'm sure someone there can help
