HELP Transport System Snowboard/bike

Guest

New member
Am am collecting a girlfriend in Zurich to go skying, she will show up with a snowboard.

I have examined the Porsche Roof Transport System, 1,600 Euro []

I am certain some of the cheap systems that you stick behind the boot on the back (Non Porsche solution) would fit, I remembered seeing a Boxster years ago with a mountain bike like that.

Otherwise some good strapping straight arond the roof (The board is in a protective padded sleeve), or around the back boot lid....[8|]

Anyone in this forum has examined the question ? If yes what system is compatible Porsche ?

Cheers !!!!!!

I have seen the roof transort systems available a few times on eBay, you might be lucky...

Or you could also try Boxa.net and Pistonheads. I do remember seeing a RTS really cheap on one of these sites. I breifly considered it myself, but then rejected it as not being strong enough to take a set of track wheels & tyres.

Not too convinced about tying to the roof (which would certainly be strong enough - it is full of metal!) - the car is a convertable - can't you put the roof down ans stick the board out of the top of the car behind the seats? (Don't lower the roof in the snow/low temperatures with a non-glass rear window! The plastic window WILL split...)

Here is the solution from SportsImports, fits Boxsters and 911 for a lot cheaper that the Porsche RTS....
