Help! Trip computer illumination

For some reason the illimination on my trip computer display seems to have failed. The computer is still working but is not lighting up and is near-impossible to see at night. I have changed the fuse (15?) but this made no difference. Anyone got any thoughts on what this might be? Everything else seems to be working ok.
