For the last 15 months I have owned a base Cayman that has been plagued with problems, mainly clutch/gearbox related but also some brake issues. My supplying OPC have been less than helpful so, after a lot of consideration, I changed OPC's to Bristol - and 99% of my problems are now resolved !

I went in for two new rear tyres and came out with a new clutch, new rear suspension arms, no hatch ratttles, in fact no rattles at all, power steering that does not expel air when it feels like it - all under warranty (except for the tyres !).

However, there is one small problem, they, and I, can't work out.

For the last month I am getting a noise, a bit like a belt slipping, from the rear of the car. It only lasts for a couple of seconds and seems to happen when pulling away at a junction, i.e. from rest and then turning left or right. The OPC changed the suspension arms because these were noisey but the problem still exists. I can't get the car to make the noise all the time so it is very difficult to demonstrate to the service personnel. The only belts on the car are at the front of the engine behind the seats. The noise I am getting is a lot further back. This happens when the car is hot or cold.

Has anybody had the problem or any suggestion as to what it could be ? As I have just had extensive work done at the rear anything lose etc. would have been evident.
