If you want an easy (and free) way to make the pictures smaller for posting here, you can use paint.
It comes bundled with Windows (under accessories).
Open the file, then under the " Image" option at the top of the screen, in the drop down menu is " Strecth/Skew" . Click on this and then in the Strech boxes, put 50% for Horizontal and 50% for Vertical, this will make the picture a quarter of the size.
Then just select " Save as" and enter a filename (so you don' t overwrite your original).

Obviously you can use other per-centage amounts to vary the size (and make it small enough for your avatar).
You can also use paint to cut sections out an existing picture and create a new one, if you have too much background (i.e. the equivalent of cropping).

well done miggs you are cracking on with it . Mine took 3 years to do mind you I did loads to start with then slowed down well OK I stopped. But then with the web and Pelican parts web site I going again to get where I am now Driv' n with me shades on down to the beach tan' n me left arm then tan' n me right when I' m in the boring Astra. COOL.....
