Here we go: new wings, kidney bowls and fresh paint.

Greetings
The ol' girl still goes well after 133k but the body has suffered with the passage of time (bit like me).
She needs new wings, kidney bowls done and a glass out respray, and new rubbers of course. I've had a few folk look at her and given me a rough estimate of anything from £4k to £10k [:'(]
As with all these things, its a one way street once you've started! Who knows what Mr Rust has been up to in your absence. You've just got to bit on a piece of leather and keep going hoping you've still got the deeds to your house and a wife at the end of it!
So enough drivel, any recommendations/personal experiences would be gratefully received. [8|] I live in north west London, so anywhere round here is good [:)]
Thanks folks.
Alex

I have two recommendations , one in and one outside of London. In London I don't think you will get a better job or fairer price than Chris Carty at 911 Bodyshop at wembley , look on Google for the tel no. 10k is silly money dont even think about, I wish you would post who quotes that sort of figure.
If you want to save on money but dont mind travelling try Bernie Tester on the east coast email me for details I dont have tehm to hand, I would suggest you will need a trailer for this and bear in mind travelling costs, get Bernie to do the body work, a real old pro by the way and use a local paint shop that he will recommend as I don't think Bernie is set up for a complete paint although waht he did for has turned out to be excellent. Save money by sourcing the parts yourself.

My car had some work done to the front and rear bumpers at 911 bodyshop by the previous owner in 2003. Basically removed, resprayed and refitted with all new rubber. A number of other bodywork related items(door handles etc) were replaced at the same time. I can't comment on what was actually done in detail , but I have a receipt on file for over £4K for the work to be carried out.

Within the last few months I have noticed the paint bubbling up again in the normal places on the bumpers so mines going to have it done again.

I would make sure that you satisfy yourself that whoever does it gives you a reasonable guarantee so that you don't find yourself in the same situation in a few years.

Where do the early car drivers (pre-galvanised bodies) take their cars to be done? They should have some good contacts.
