Here's a good garage in Plymouth

Just thought I would share this information. My '85 944 has 130,000 miles and smokes like a bugger when accelerating or backing off. I was told by many 'specialists' that it will need a new head, but as I wanted the belts and tensioners done too, I may as well get a recon engine!!!
My local Snap-on dealer recommended Seaton Motors, Plymouth on 01752-663143 (Simon). He was pleased to accept the work, has telephoned me each day to inform me of progress and parts etc, and has charged me less than £250 for the following: All belts, replace valve stem seals, tensioners, gaskets, oil, filter, antifreeze. Because he is so helpful and efficient Ive asked him to do my brakes now and promised to pass his name on to anyone else I know.
There arnt many helpful and honest garages around in these parts but Im glad Ive found these guys who can help me keep my pride and joy on the road

In a similar vein, my preferred fettler has now said I can pass on his details to anyone who may be interested after a period where he was worried about not be ing able to cope.

He's in Honiton for those at the other end of Devon and left Exeter OPC early last year because he got bored of the Boxster and 996 work and his colleagues thought he was mad because he'd volunteer to do the work on all the old stuff. He's of the age that trained on the 944 and 3.2 Carrera and he has bought the necessary diagnostic kit - also he's on very good terms with the OPC so he gets his parts quickly and for proper trade money. He's called Andy Moss and he's contactable by mobile only - 07762 244477 - but that keeps his overheads down and lets him charge £25/hr for top quality work. Highly recommended by me and a few others on here as well - AndyRR, Garry Steele, Kev Welch(?) etc.
