Hi Everyone,

Occasionaly when I am braking the steering wheel juddeers. I always thought it was due to a warped disc but as I have very recently replaced discs and pads all round I am at a bit of a loss as to what it is. Like I say it occasionally happens and not every time. Would a worn bush on the front wishbones cause it?

Regards,

I'm not sure from your post if it was there before you replaced the brakes. If it wasn't, the first thing I'd check is what I've just done which in your case would be to check for a loose caliper bolt or even more simple, loose wheel nuts.

If it was also there before changing the brakes, check for play in the wheel bearings.

Thanks for the replies folks. It was like it before I replaced the discs and pads and naturaly I assumed it was a warped disc. It seems to be moreso at higher speeds when I am gradualy braking. The wheel bearings are fine infact it flew through an MOT a couple of weeks ago. Its an occasional thing and I am used to it now it just would be better if it didnt do it at all.

yes mine does that too,on third set of discs, all the same , im going to remove the front spacers i have so the wheel centres on the hub better, to see if that works...

Had exactly the same...usually when descending a hill and suchlike. Discs, bearings rotors all checked out A1. Indie felt it was the ABS being a little "over eager". Put some softer compound pads on to try that...judder completely gone

Cheers for that folks. Mind you I have got turbo brakes and calipers on mine so maybe that wont help matters
