This must be a FAQ, but a quick search didn't reveal anything.
My 03 996turbo occasionally suffers from noticeable hesitation and/or surging when driving smoothly at around 3000rpm. I have heard that "they all do that, sir", but when it kicks in (particularly on a slippery road) it can be more than a little annoying.
If this is a "feature" of Variocam Plus, why don't all engines do it to the same extent? Can something be done to improve it?
