Hi all

Hi all, i've been on the forum before getting lots of help and advice on my 944. Its almost as good as the Boxster, however its spent the last 6 months having the sills replaced at great expense... only to repay me with an engine fault. Its in my bad books.

Anyway the reason i'm saying hi is to ask for a little advice on my Boxster. Its a 2004 2.7 986. last Friday I spent 2 hours in a rather pleasant lay-by waiting for the AA to tell me it was running on 5 cylinders. I was told to drive it home and arrange for a garage to sort it, but having thought about it I decided to replace all the spark plugs and coils... the coils get in a right state, i'm sure a few of you have had to replace them? She now runs beautifully, but the engine warning light is staying on. The strange thing is that it turned on and off then I was making my way home, so I assumed that it wouldn't be a problem. Is there a way of resetting it?

Totally unrelated but there is a ticking noise coming from the engine. I though it was the coils shorting on the engine casing, its that sort of electrical tick. Its not too noticeable, and with the window up I wouldn't know it was happening. I just wanted to know if it was something that all Boxsters did? It seems to speed up with the revs. The sound seems to come from the front of the engine too.

I look forward to coming along to some of the meetings when the weather get a little better, I've had the top off once this year already!

Thanks for any help!

Ollie
