Hi, Im new to forum i stay in Glasgow ive got a nov 01 Boxster 2.7 my first Porsche and i love it[:)] Just wanted to say Hello and Happy New Year !!

Welcome to the forum ..we have quite a few Boxster's owners in fact one just picked up his last week .There is a lot of talk of the dreaded IMS or RMS think it is the same thing not very technical so do not take my word .
If it aint broke dont fix it is my advice .Where do you stay as some of us went to an open day in Stirling last weekend www.spautobahn.com. Stuart would look at it and inspect your car ..enjoy the car and pop along to the meets Our RO will know doubt be along to welcome you if you have joined the club .

Brian

Welcome Colin, as Brian said I picked up a 2000 Boxster S last week and had Stuart at SP Autobahn look it over.
Where are you? What colour is it? Is it the one from Cumbernauld that was on ebay, I had seen the ad but never viewed it.
Wouldn't worry too much about the RMS, or even the more fatal IMS, it happens but not as often as forums would have you believe.

Pop along to a club meeting and join in, you will be most welcome and reassured, you can come along before you join the club to see if it floats your boat.

Alan.

hi brian and allan, ye it's the one from ebay from cumbernauld dark blue think he used a scouring pad to wash it tho but got a mate that does machine poishing so will do it in the winter when its off the rd bought it as a bit of a project to keep me out the other half's hair it's actually not that expensive for parts as i thought, i've been called tex since i was 13 so when i seen the t3x part seen it as a sign..LOL.

im in auchenblae about 30 miles south of aberdeen, had it in at porsche aberdeen for a major service last week wish i had known about this site before i went but thought it would be good to get it in to the so called profesionals for a look over along with the service i was advised that it needed spark plugs and 3 ignition coils they only had 2 in stock so said just fit them but they noted that the exhaust mounts were rusty so when i got it home i put it over my pit and had a look and found that they hadn't tightened the bolts on 1 of the coil packs...not a happy bunny.

they also said i needed the brake pipes done and had an oil leak from front and rear been investigating the leaks tonight looks like overflow from the hydrolic oil resevoir and the leak at the back looks like an really old one so cleaned them up and will wait and see. going to give stuart a shout and let him have a look over it tho it's good to know that there is still people like him about.

ye defo on the meets tho and i will prob join
