hi everyone,

jus purchased the new love of my life (996 carerra 4 convertible on a 52 plate)
unfortunately i have not had it more than 5 days and the engine management light has lit up []. the car seems fine no evidence of engine problems.
i also have a rubbing noise from the left wheel area when full locking to the right. Would really appreciate some light im in the birmingham area and am quite stressed at the moment, dont want to spend big money after just buying the car.
thanks[:(]

Hi
Sorry to hear about your problem.
Since the purchase history of your car is not apparent, I would advice to take it to a local specialist to check it out.
It could be just a faulty contact/light.
Do not stress about it, owning a Porsche is like any other love-affair..... I have three to look after.....

As Panos says, a diagnostic check is the first thing to get done. If you bought it from a dealer, get them to sort it out. If it was a private purchase, then find a decent local indy and take it to them. The only one I know in the area is PCT at Coventry.

As for the rubbing noise at full lock, it may be the normal scrubbing noise you get on the 996 due to the wide tyres. It is particularly noticeable in reverse.
