In short the PSE on my 996 4S isn't working as it should - the vacuum is working correctly on both sides but Id say the valve on the nearside isn't operating as it should. The offside goes quiet when the dash button is pressed but the nearside remains on 'loud' mode. What's the solution or remedy for this - any feed back is welcomed.

Having spent a kings ransom on the car so far I hope there's a quick fix :)

Thanks guys - hope you're all well

Having spotted nothing more helpful on google I have the solution - leave them both on loud - simple really!

Either the vacuum pipe is not working on one side (leaking/ disconnected), easiest thing would be to extend the hoses and swop them around and see if the problem still exists on the same side, that way you can check to see if the valve works and also if the vacuum works on the both pipes.

if its the valve its a bolt on job i think,

if the vacuum is ok and valve is not moving, it could be the actual baffle seized in the exhaust, dont know of a cure for this, I heard they normally start to rattle as opposed to sieze, depends if they spend a long time sitting,

they aint cheap - they do come up on ebay second hand on occasion, systems sell for around the £500 ish mark, you might be lucky and pick up the side you need cheap if someone only has half a system, (not sure so would check that the 4s has the same offsets as a narrow body car though)

cheers
scott.
