Hey there and welcome - As already said, very nice looking S2 there. Lots of useful advise dished out round here and most of its usually friendly ! [;)]

Morning Rossy and welcome on board [:)]

We seem to be seeing more and more white cars these days. I can't explain it because they have all been around since the late '80s but now they are coming out of the woodwork in droves

I've had it for about a year now, as a kid my dad and uncle had them so soon as i found out i could get reasonable insurance, i got one...had the belts done as soon as i got it. Then recently the water pump started leaking so thats being done soon aswell, i know i should of had this done when i had the belts done but didnt have the cash!

White or red, it beats a turbo into a cocked hat!

Good to have you on board Ross. You'll quickly discover the usual topics of debate on here ... oh, you already have!

Nicer in red, though.....[8|]

Ahh, but faster in white [;)]

Certainly rustier in white....[;)]

Everyone knows red ones are faster anyway......[:D]

Ok, but at least white cars don't turn pink when the sun comes out... (this could run and run :ROFLMAO:)

Oh, and welcome Ross [:D]

Hey, I like my pink roof - goes with my eyes.....[:D]

Saucer of milk for Oli....[:D]

Come across any Seat diesels recently.....??!!!![;)]

Runs away quickly......

Ahhhh, this is great!

On holiday for two weeks, and within a couple of hours of being back the old prejudices are already out and being used at 20 paces, and we have another thread off-topic!

Some things never change, eh?

Oli.

(In answer to your question, no, I haven't. But 1500 miles around North Wales has revealed how past-it my brakes are, and highlighted the need for new ones. The excessive power of the S2 has worn away those disks and pads just toooo quickly!)

Ah North Wales - love the place and there are some superb driving roads all over the area. The EVO magazine have their 'driving triangle' over there, near Betsw-y-Coed, I think.

Feel the love Oli, feel the love......[:D]

Not very nice down here at the moment Nick.

I am holiday here for 10 days and p#####g down does not even come close.

Just aswell the car is not back yet as it would get wet.

But yes the roads you mention are lovely to drive on out here, we must go for a spin out round that way sometime[:D]

Love felt, Nick! [:)]

Driving roads were not the primary aim of the trip, but a certain itch was well and truly scratched ... I know the area moderately well having lived near-ish to there in a previous life, and travelled across the area a number of times. And yes, the S2 did do a magnificent job on the excellent black-top you find there ...

(It did cause something of a row between me and Mrs zcacogp on the way home. Her: "Turn left in Bala, that'll get us back to the A5, which is the quickest route home." Me: "Not flippin' likely! Two hours hacking on the A5, or three hours on some of the best roads in the British Isles? That'll be a dogleg right in Bala and we'll be home an hour later, love!" Perhaps that's what cooked the brakes ... mayhap? [:D])

When i bought mine i did test drive a red one and mine and i did feel as though the white was a little faster... [;)] although now with my leaky water pump i think the red would take it lol

My first one was white. I wish I still had it. It was a great car. Belinda liked it as well.

White is a bit disappointing when you polish it as it doesn't look any different but it hides dents a treat. Peter E certainly found that useful.

No doubt red/dark(ish) pink will come back in vogue one day but it is soooo '80's. [;)]
