HID headlights

I was thinking of replacing the useless headlights with HIDS from HIDS4U. Has anyone got any comments about fitting the units and any problems once they had been fitted.. I know they are far better.
This would be a diy project as as far as I can tell it only requires the drilling of a couple of holes. The wiring is PnP.
Cheers[:)]

I saw an article on John Miles Smartgroups forum (in the files section) about this.

Where are you based Fred. I'm in Bromley but in Leeds for long weekend 16/19 March if thats anywhere near you if you want to see how good the kit is.

Hello Richard,
I'm on the Fylde Coast (Blackpool), so I'm roughly 90 miles from Leeds. Whilst I appreciate the chance to see the HIDS and meet a fellow Titanic survivor a round trip of 180 miles is a bit too far.
I'm going to have to get my act together ansd get to of the meets down South sometime.
Enjoy yourself in Leeds, don't forget your passport and phrase book[:)]
Hear all, see all, say nowt. Eight all, sup all, pay nowt and if tha ever does owt for nowt allus do it for thi sen.

Fitted them to my SC the difference was like day and night, that good worth every penny. All I had to do was open up a couple of the holes from the boot to the headlightb buckets to get the cable plugs through fitted new grommets and painted round the holes.

Hello Baz,
All I have read or have been told about the HID headlights has been very positive.
I really need to use the 964 in the dark more to fully justify getting them. ( it hasn't been out for the last three weeks even in the light!). But I think I'll look into fitting them to either the Volvo or the 924S as they do get used at night.
Cheers,
