Could someone give me an estimated cost for fitment of HID lights to a C2S, and also any idea where I could source a set of 993 Turbo wheels as originally fitted to a C2S (BTW, whats the difference between the technology wheel and the turbo wheel - i'm guessing one is hollow spoke and one is solid spoke?)

thanks in advance - Rich

HID lights i had fittted at PCT(autobahn)coventry 6 months ago-about £500 with new clear lenses

huge difference[;)]

HIDs: If you want to DIY just over £100 for a pair. With today's small kits that fit inside the headlights it is a quick and easy job, if you can change a bulb, you can do it. Like Dylan says, it is a must-do change, really does transform night driving outside city. Doing the dips is just about enough in my view. But I might to the main beam as well to see if I change my mind.

You are right on the hollow/solid difference on the 18" wheels. No idea about sources.

No knowledge of HIDs or sourcing wheels but I hope this is useful ...

[blockquote]How to tell the difference between hollow-spoke and solid-spoke wheels ...

The hollow-spoke "Technology" wheels have smooth spoke-backs and metal valve stems, while the solid-spoke "Turbo Look" wheels have ribbed spoke-backs and rubber valve stems.

Here are the part numbers and weights of both wheel types.

Hollow Spoke "Technology" wheels:

993.362.140.03 - ET40 - 31.08 lb (wide body rear)
[/blockquote]I believe the C2S was originally fitted with the hollow "Technology" wheels. Strangely, I believe the C4S was not.

If you have the hollow spoke wheels refurbished, please make sure the valve holes are SEALED - otherwsie the blasting medium will get inside the hollow spoke and rim spaces, making wheel-balancing impossible. How do I know? Guess what?

Cheers
Matthew

Jasmine used to sell refurbished hollowspoke wheels but that was a few years ago. Porsche still sell them but they are v v expensive. They come up on ebay now and then.
