Hiding a laser detector

I have a Micro pilot GPS camera locator which I installed in my new 997. In my previous car a 996 I had the laser detector attachment attached to the windscreen by the supplied suction cap which worked well.

For obvious reasons I want to hide the unit (am going to France in the car in the summer) and want to know if the device will work if hidden behind the front bumper. (Hoemlink appears to work from there) . Does anybody have advice?

Thanks

Jonathan

needs clear line of vision for laser detector to work, so won't work behind a bumper. Would stongly recommend NOT taking the detector to france. Legally they can stop and search if they have reason to believe you might be using a detector.... have a friend who had had very well hidden radar detectors found and then promptly smashed on the road in front of him and he was also given a large cash fine.
As an aside imho laser detectors are a waste of time, scatter is so poor that by the time they go off you're caught. Radar detectors work well with scatter, but are also set off by every door opener etc. Stick with a GPS for the UK, and drive sensibly in france, but carry a chunk of cash so that if you are stopped it won't ruin your holiday.
