High beam/low beam stalk problems

When I switch the headlights on they are permanently on high beam even when they should be on low beam. If I slightly pull the stalk from low beam position to high beam flash then they go to low beam but I need to keep my fingers pulling the stalk forward slightly. I am assuming that the problem is with the stalk and that it could need replacing? Can anyone advise please?

Yes it's the stalk without a doubt. Common problem that will eventually happen to all IB 911's. You can try bending the contacts apart, but eventually the switch will need replacing.

Definitely worth trying to 'gently' bend the contacts - I did that to mine about 12 yrs ago and they lasted until a year ago when I had to replace the item - at great cost, even at 2nd hand.
