High Oil Pressure..........

I use my 91 944 S2 as every day travel but I noticed today that the oil pressure seems to be staying very high even when the engine is hot, higher than normal. It normaly sits, hot at idle about 2.5 - 3 bar and nearly 5 when on full song. Coming home tonight it seemed and still is at 4 - 4.5 hot at idle.

Question is, will this be electrical or mechanical to do with oil pump. Anyone experienced this or any bright idea's before I start to panic..............again !!

Cheers

My S2 had a sticking oil pressure relief valve when I first bought it and that gave high oil pressure at idle (as well as an odd whooshing noise). IIRC It was about £150 including fitting about 8 years ago.
