High Torque, Reduction Gear Starter

Has anyone fitted one? preferably to a turbo? I'd be interested to hear peoples thoughts.

Whilst washing the car yesterday as I went to put it away I turned the key and there was nothing twice in a row. I thought it sounded a bit lazy a couple of months ago and thought about ordering one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm...ame=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Buy it: it's the same as the one that Ideola sells. Make sure that you get anti-clockwise (probably called CC or CCW by Merkins) rotation or it will only suit 924s. When the exchange rate was better they cost under £200 and were a no-brainer - now they're expensive but they are so much better than an old-school starter motor and the cars are more valuable too... Couple this with a solid state DME relay with fuel pump prime and they will start in an instant - very unlike a 944.

I've got A WOSP Unit for sale

LMS574

I got it because I thought it was considerable less weight than the stock one, but when we
checked it's about the same! So i've kept the original on ...

£311 Retail, I'd let this go for £250 Inc UK Courier.

I've just not had time to stick it on the Bay, but probably will do at the next Big workshop clear out...[:)]

Is it definitely a LMS574? for the 944, I thought you ran a 924 which looking at their catalogue that would be a LMS272.

I brought three back from the states with me.

One is on my car, one is in a mate's 944 Turbo cab and the third one is sat on 944 Man's desk :)

I mailed Ftech9 and Rogue Tuning about their re engineered DME, nothing came back and neither seem to have them available on their websites...
