Higher Mileage 997's

reevers

New member
Having just received a trade in price for my 60k miles, 2005 C2tip, I have decided to keep the car for another year at least. Annual mileage is now 20k a year.

Has anyone had any incidences of problems/ repairs required of higher mileage 997's?

I've just clocked up 80k in my 2005 C2S. Only problems so far have been gear selector cables at 62k, clutch at 70k and a pair of leaking air con condensers (spotted at service) which wont be replaced until next Summer. Front and rear brakes (discs and pads) need doing but still not fully worn. My previous 996 experience (sold car at 95k miles) suggests that 997 is superior over similar mileage.

Cheers Adrian

My 05 C2S has now done 68k. No real problems - the only extras on it so far have been a new clutch at 60k (done at service) and a replacement oil seal (again, at the same time as a preventative measure). The garage has advised however that there is a slight squeak from the water pump which they suspect is the motor bearings and this is something to watch.
