HISTORIC MASTERS RACING AT DONINGTON

Last week I learnt of this event over the weekend of4/5th September I approached the organisers on behalf of the Club and managed to secure the same deal as FOC<AMOCand JEC. We will have a dedicated display area for up to 12 cars. The drivers and cars will get free enrty and passes, their passengers will get discounted passes at £10 per day or £17.50 for the two days. The passes are access all areas and there will be touring laps of the new circuit over the weekend. I have about 4 places left so if you want a free race weekend please contact me ASAP. We will also have our own viewing area and suject to approval by the organisers I hope to have the Region 8 Gazebo with refreshments for all Club members who, attend. There will be classic Formula 1 and sports car racing .Check out www.themastersseries.com .

MEMORIES OF THE WEEKEND,SEEING THE 962 BACK ON TRACK,LEADING THE CAR PARADE ON BEHALF OF THE CLUB AND SITTING WITH GOOD FRIENDS AROUND THE GLOWING BBQ'S WITH THE ROAR FROM THE TRACK IN THE BACKGROUND . Patrick, just got a e-mail from a couple we spoke to on sunday afternoon who are looking to buy a 944. they came back to the stand about 3.30pm(ish) to hand in their membership application form but we had packed up and gone. just the folded up marquee and a few busy people they didn't reconnise.

i'll speak to you tonight regarding this.

[8D] was a real treat to be allowed to drive around the new circuit. even if it wasn't exactly stretching the legs of the 356. but i guess with so many of us on track they had to play it safe. i can imagine they are under the eye of the health and safety mafia at the moment who are waiting for any excuse to close them down again. []

we thoroughly enjoyed the week-end.

Nice picture Helen and my best side too!. Yes the idea behind the weekend was to prove to Big Bro and the MSA that events could be safely held and the Circuit was satisfactory. I gather they were happy,even if 1 member was disappointed that his son was to young to go on track, and the granting of a licence for the return of motor racing should take place. Basically you have all played a part in the Revival.
