Historical Help Needed

I don't know if this is the right place to post this but here goes...
I have been trying to find out some history about my cab and thought someone out there might be able to point me in the right direction.

When I bought the car I was told that it had been raced and had a big accident at Oulton Park. I reckon that this will have been in 1955 or 56 as a late 1500S engine came with the car and I assume (bad idea I know, as the maestro used to say assume makes an ass out of u and me) this was used to do the racing with.

I have been collecting original programs for the circuit over the past year and wondered if anyone would be able to tell me how I find out how many races took place there in both these years as well as the dates of races.

I also have one 1955 program listing 3 Porsches in one particular race. Will there be any way of finding out what they were? With this one I think I will have to look at reports from the magazines at the time, but is there anything else I should look at?

Thanks for any help.

I been thinking about this for a few days - I guess others have and its pretty hard (for me anyway) to see where you go with this.

My only thought was to get in touch with the local paper for Oulton park. They may well have reported on race events at the Park.
The press have not changed over time so if your car was involved in a prang it has a better chance of being reported!
You never know perhaps even a photo may accompany any report.
Now I am dreaming.

John

P.S. I suppose you have tried the race circuit?
