History of RS Touring (new member)

Hi All

Can anyone point me in the right direction to try and track the history of my soon to be aquired RS? It's a rhd 12/72 registered, chassis no 281. It's been in Japan since 1981. I've been told that they are not too worried about history?

It was originally a UK car. The full ex-factory spec will be in the back of the essential Gruber & Konradsheim Carrera RS book. I thought it had been in UK ownership in recent years.

An important inclusion with the purchase of any RS has to be the supporting documentation, which should enable you to piece together much of the history and, if possible, you may be able to contact past owners to fill in some gaps. Typically though, few of these cars have all the service history that you might wish for.

Hello!

Have you seen the car? If not and you want extra pictures/info email me. I'm currently working in Germany and the car is just down the road. There is no history for the car whilst it was in Japan. I have tried extensively to find out details of the car over this time but to no avail. It's history in the UK is known.

Cheers, Stuart

According to John Starkey the car was last registered to David Farnell of W. Yorks. It might be worth contacting John directly (info@johnstarkeycars.com) as I'm sure he would want to update his records for his books and may well have more info on the car. Also try Josh Sadler at Autofarm, he's probably worked on the car at some time.

Thanks for your help.I'll do some digging.

Stuart thanks for the offer . I've had the car looked at by Mick Pacey of Export 56 and I've got some pics. Just want to drive it now!!
