hiya to everyone and looking for another S2 [edited for mileage correction]

hiya,,,,,,,i have decided after making a huge b...s up in selling my S2 just over 2 years ago and replacing her with a mint 2004,,low mileage SL that has behaved without fault but i miss my s2 and intend to purchase another in the very near future,,,
after entering a thread re a cayman s i have decided that is an s2 that i want,,
i need to be honest with myself as its the 944 page in pistonheads,,auto trader that i keep going back to,,,,,
after a small key scratch on the SL is sorted then i put her up for sale,,,great history and just over 56k miles and just over 4k miles since my tenure including an A service last year,,mot in july etc, etc,,,
i see a lovely drop top is available with working air con and all the work done for sale in Kent i believe ex singapore car,,,,,,,
i made an awful mistake selling my red s2 and seeing her near Victoria Park looking splendid in the sun recently made me happy she was ok but left a horrible feeling in the pit of the stomach ,,,,,,,,,
a lot of members told me NOT to get rid of her considering her condition and my love for her and they were RIGHT,,,,,,,
No car has ever got "under my skin" like my old s2 so makes perfect sense to get another instead of buying a cayman and then find myself looking at 944s in 3 months,,,,,,
so the search begins and if anyone wants or knows a person looking for a lovely 350SL with glass panoramic roof and all the bits plus a great history with all books, mots etc then please let me know,,,,,,,,,
good to be back but much better when i find my new "baby",,,,,,,,
regards to all,,,,jason p

when the merc is gone,,already have a few s2s that I am interested in and one that I think may be my mine in the near future subject to a couple of little things,,,,

So fingers crossed I should be back in the fold before Xmas even have my c t charger ready,,,,,,

next time I post I should have her,,,,,jasonp

Hi Ed,

Thanks for kind endorsement-no comission i,m afraid[:D].Jason has contacted me and is due to see her shortly.

I trust you and family are well- have you been to the ring with your lad-you mentioned it at Rutland- if so i bet he loved it.

Trust my old boxster is still performing well.

Cheers

Ron

Hey Edd,,,

Thanks very much for thinking of me and I had a long chat with Ron only last night,,,

Car sounds lovely so it's looking like a " two horse race" at the moment between Rons and another members car,,,,,,,

Just can't wait to get back home next Tuesday to get the merc sold and/or on the market,,,,

Cheers jasonp

Yes we had a great weekend thanks - including a 4½ hour lap.. on foot, during the VLN race on the Saturday. Quite a long walk! We hired a Suzuki Swift for tourist lapping on the Sunday - it's plenty fast enough if you keep your foot on the throttle & off the brakes [:D]

Boxster is going well, but might be up for sale soon, am going to see a car tomorrow...

Jason - will be interested to see your comparison of a KWv3 car vs standard (assuming the other one is standard)

Edd.,,

I think the other s2 has the same. , not 100% on that but I know the suspension has been given major attention,,, will keep you posted,,,'

What was your issue with the SL? I'm actually considering going the other way, and swapping my S2 for an SL, albeit an SL55 AMG. Soooo much car for the money.

And there in lies the problem,,,,my SL 350 is in no way, shape, or form remotely like an sL55,,,,,,, no v8,,abc suspension or that giant supercharger,,,,,My SL has behaved without fault but no sports car IMHO and I am not brave enough to switch off the traction,,slip her into sports setting and flip her into tip,,,,

In a straight line maybe but on the twisty bits? No thanks,,,,

Great tourer I imagine as I have only done over 4k miles in two and half years,,,

Like I have mentioned that she has been great and is total luxury but not for me,,

Love the shape but miss an S2 so she has to go,,,,
