does anyone know of a way of removing the stain left by a incontinent seagull,(it also hit the boot and drivers door but thay washed off no problem)I' ve scrubbed with a old tooth brush which helped a bit,but i' m a bit worried i might scrub off the coat off water sealer stuff.....

Try living in Whitby like me, I bought a car with superb handling just so I could dodge them! If I' m not quick enough however, I wash such problems off using Zymol clear bathe and water, seems to do the job or are the Bexhill-on-Sea ones of the curry eating variety?

Not sure what it had been eating,( probably found on the land fill site-not sure it started life as a fish)what ever it was it didn' t seem to agree with the sea gull delicate digestion.i' ll try and get hold of some zymol stuff.

What about the water proofing? I notice now that water doesn' t tend to ' bubble' on the hood and is more prone to soaking in in some areas. What' s a good product for that?

Cheers,

Mike

I use the Autoglym kit. It' s okay. It consists of a spray cleaner (no water is required) and a nifty little sponge that doesn' t disintegrate and leave bits stuck in your hood. It' s quite good for removing bird droppings! There' s also another spray which is the waterproofer - apply this when the hood is dry.

Another alternative is the Tequipment Porsche Cleaning Kit. The car shampoo is okay for the paintwork *and* the hood so you can give it a thorough wash. Remember to soak up any excess water with a lint-free absorbent cloth to avoid water marks - do not wipe the hood! Let it dry naturally. Then use the waterproofer spray and your hood will look like new.

The Autoglym kit is good for when you kust want to clean the hood without washing the car.

The Tequipment Boxster Cleaning Kit is good for when you want to clean the whole car.

I' m sure there are loads of other options but the choice depends on whether cleaning your car is an obsession or a chore! I find cleaning my car a real pain so I always go for the easiest option.

The " how to" articles on www.carcareonline.com are a good source of information and cure for insomnia
