Hood issues/ engine not starting.

Today on the way to the Porsches on the prom meeting we all stopped at Colwyn to meet others. As the sun was out I thought it was time for the roof to go down. No joy it wouldn't move, the windows went down as should but nothing else. Tried to start the car nothing.
It was as tho the immobiliser was stopping it.

I called the RAC who then tested all the fuses which were fine, as the hand brake light was coming on he thought the micro switch was fine. He then disconnected the battery or 10 secs. This got the car started fine, drove to the meeting and all the way back to Manchester with no troubles. Roof is still not working tho.

Has anyone experienced this issue? What would the next course of action be. I would appreciate anyone's input into this. Many thanks in advance.

There's also a micro-switch in the top latch Steve, but since the windows are dropping, it sounds as though it's working OK.

You could try re-seating the folding top control unit relays (items 14 and 15):

Hi Steve

Pleased that you got to the meeting, after everybody abandoned you in Colwyn Bay. Saw the car had taken its place with the 200+ others

Well what can I say, today went out to the car no issues starting, went to drop the roof and yes you guessed it nothing wrong went down and up with no issues. This car is starting to confuse me with its foibles. [&:]

Graham my Better half wants to thank you for coming back and asking if all was ok.
