Hoods - How much, who and where ?

Well, I think the time has come to budget for the replacement of the soft top on my 944. Can you get a good used one (maybe a REALLY silly question). How much does a new hood cost ? Do you need the mechanism overhauled at the same time (it's 18 years old) ? Can anyone recommend somewhere in the NorthWest that reasonably priced ?

All experience gratefully received - if not ultimately perhaps by my wallet !

Forrest Fine do supply them and I think Southbound in Southampton also does a custom made too using the same as the OEM ones.

I was at PH sportscars in spondon the other day and he had a breaker in, and the roof was immaculate. maybe worth giving Paul a call?

I called Southbound the other day for a price on mats and asked for a new hood price your looking at 1100 supplied and fitted from them

Rich.
I had my 968 cabrio roof replaced a few years ago by Advanced Car Trimmers in Blackpool. 01253 357738.
He has done a few of these cars + knows how to do one...
Cant remember the actual cost, but i didnt get much change from £1000....
I refurbished the whole mechanism on mine, as i dont think "Roy" wanted to do it... Not difficult just time consuming...

I seem to remember the car being either dark blue or possibly black with a matching black hood. (there was no engine in it, as it was sat high at the front)
