horn beeps once when i lock it?

usually the centre storage compartment lid not properly closed, the one between the seats

Horn will beep once if you press button twice to lock. Hand book says that if compartment lid / oddments tray is not CLOSED the horn will beep. Check out the handbook pages 14 / 15.

Closed, I'd say. The centre storage compartments are a bit notorious for not quite closing properly and sometimes triggering your alarm. I had trouble with mine when I first got the car; the little black receiver/catch that the bar on the lid closes in to needed moving slightly as it wasn't positioned to receive the mech properly. It was done under warranty so I didn't do the job myself but I can only assume that they needed to take the centre console off to get at it - or it might be accessible through the centre storage box itself. No probs since.

The horn gives a small beep when you lock the car and you've left something open. On my 2003 C2 coupe this includes the centre storage, the engine cover, the boot lid, the glove compartment or one of the doors. I'm not sure but yours might beep if the roof isn't fully located when closed...?

You mean this is a problem? Mine did this this for a year, thought it a characteristic of the car alarm system!

I miss my 996

I have the same problem with mine. In my case it's the glove box switch needs replacing which is telling the on board pc the the lid is open and therefore not securely locked . The diagnostic pc it should flag up the problem.
