horn not working/spoiler

daws

New member
Can anyone tell me what may be wrong with my horn on my 97 boxster. it have not worked since i bought it some months ago. The horn works when there is a fault with the alarm, but not when you press the steering wheel. Ihave tried to take off the steering wheel front to see if the contacts are dirty but could not get it off (how does it come off) also will it disturb the air bag. Also does any one know where i can get a nice rear spoiler for the car that doesn't cost a fortune. cheers.

There are two different horns - the one that beeps with an alarm fault is located to the left of the battery (as you look at it) and the main horns are behind the front PU.

Edit: Check fuse B3 first, and then check that relay No 10 is clicking when you press the horn. If they are OK, it could be a bad connection somewhere, but it is most likely to be the horns themselves. They are a common failure, as they are exposed to the elements.

PU is the common term for the front bumper, because it is made from PolyUrethane.

I had it pointed out to me that polyurethane is in fact a generic term for any polymer consisting of a chain of organic units joined by urethane links. The bumper is actually made from PP+EDPM (that's polypropylene and ethylene propylene diene monomer).
