Dose any one have any chrome Horne grills and side mirror for sale or know of a good source.
The parts are for a 69 car.

Do you want originals or reproduction parts?

Mirrors are available from Porsche dealers for about £110, repros from £45. Try Trende in Germany. They also do horn grills for about 33 euros

When I was in Germany my mate who is German ( believe it or not) has a 912 and we went to him for a load of parts and he had the chrome plastic grills and they are great .They really do look good. So I can recomend them. But weather they last the test of time it' s hard to tell I am sure they will but don' t polish them too hard each time. All I am saying is I think they will scratch easy. But they do LOOK great

I have a pair of black ones I will sell if you want them as a fellow 912' er on this site I would only want £15 for the pair (they are NEW)

Thanks for the offer 912uk but I am after the chrome ones I already have the black ones.
Where can I get hold of the plastic grills from?

Lenz-trend Produkte in Germany do them - click on the link in Nick' s earlier post.

Bear in mind with all prices in Germany that you need to add 16% for their equivalent of VAT.

These are the bits at Lenz-trend

911273 horn grille chrome 911 left yr.mfc. 69-73 901 559 431 27 33,23 €

I would love to see the quality of these items if you buy them

I know it was me that prob first posted the Lenz link, but has anyone actually managed to get anything via email/web? I have emailed them 2 or 3 times over the last 6 months with no reply[:(] Guess I should have rung... Gave up in the end... seems a shame as they have great prices.

You will need the later Durant mirror for a 69 car.

Roger Bray had these before and the quality seemed ok.

May be worth a call?

I have bought lots of items from both Mittelmotor & Lenz-trend in Germany :

F&R euro lenses for ' 65-' 68 swb & ' 69-' 72 cars
Plastic chrome 2-hole swb horn grilles
Chrome (metal) horn grilles for ' 69-' 72 cars
S/steel round Durant mirrors
F&R screen rubbers+door/bonnet/engine lid/F&R bumper seals
+ quite a few other bits & pieces

quality is variable - particularly with the lenses (minor defects in the plastic) - but only noticeable close-up. Certainly value for money considering the cheap prices - but only really worth it if you' re ordering lots of parts at the same time (& don' t forget that german VAT @ 16% will be added to their list prices).

I think that there' s only one major supplier for each of these components & all of the european 911 specialists get their parts from the same source.

I' ve also bought from Performance Products & Automotion (before they were taken over) in the US & found the German (& Dutch) suppliers to be of equivalent quality.
