Hot Feet

I went for a drive for a few hours yesturday and noticed as the day went on my feet got hotter and hotter! I'm assuming its down to the exhaust manifold being pretty much the other side of the firewall drivers side as my passenger didn't have the same experience. I was thinking about putting some exhaust wrap on the manifolds if i could get in there, has anyone else done something similar? The only time i've seen exhaust wrap is on turbo or race preped cars.

Cheers

Unusual [&:]

I know there are shiny reflective heat shields all down the inside of the engine bay where the manifold is and as it leads off to the exhaust itself. Maybe yours have fallen off? I think they are only held on with self tappers and maybe they have rusted away?

Hmm, I remember seeing some heat shielding, but that was on the wing area right next to the manifolds. I assumed it was because it was such a warm day, ill get under the car today and have a look.

EDIT:
Just been under and its still there... it was a very hot day. I'll see if i can get hold of some exhaust wrap and put it on the lower section of the manifold, how hard can it be....... [:D]

My S2 has noticeably more heat in the tunnel/footwell than the Lux. Whether it's different exhaust or the engine I don't know. It'll be nice in winter, though.

Stupidly remedial question chaps, but the heaters on these machines are known for not working as they should - broken clips and all the usual yadda yadda yadda.

Are you sure your heaters are doing what they should? (i.e. Not blowing hot air onto your feet).

Oli.
