I have just found that one of my headlamp wires has signs of heat affecting it, so much so that the plastic connector block has partly melted. The wiring insulation adjacent to the block is slighlty blackened.
I found this when replacing the bulb, due to the dipped beam not worling on one side. Having got it all apart I pulled the bulb from the 3 blade connector and left behind one of the male bulb terminal blades in the connector. Reckon the heat had melted the solder holding it to the bulb fitting..
This is worrying; the bulb is standard so I don't know why this has happened.
Advice as to getting a replacement connector would be appreciated plus any ideas to stop further heat in this wire. (I have checked the fuse and its the right rating..)
