Hotels around Spa

Can anyone recommend a decent hotel near the track? I'm particularly interested in a place where I can park the car in plain sight and perhaps even near my room so that I could hear if someone decided to take off with it ;)
TIA

We've just got back after three days staying at Neil and Anne's B&B 5km from Spa.

I met Neil over at the Ring yesterday and he rode as passenger with me for four laps. Amazingly helpful.
Book it and tell Neil I sent you...
Here is a pic from their front drive - quite a view.

Yep, can but reccomend it -Anne greeted us with a beer when we arrived and dinner was ready on the table within minutes!!

Really out in the country and a great antidote to a faceless hotel.

More like staying with friends!! They're used to track dayers and this showed with many useful hints, notes and help.

Hey John, nice edit of the trailer!! Well done! [;)]

John,
Those pictures look fantastic - don't suppose you got any of my old bus did you ? I'd forgotten that you were only there for one day, so apologies for not saying goodbye on Tuesday. Wedsnesday was more of the same but an absolute scorcher. I ended up bailing out early as I was feeling really rough (a consequence of too many late nights in the run up !) - it was not a day for cars without aircon !

Hi Jamie,
Sorry to hear you were unwell.
I only took a few photos....the first one above is mine, the others the track photo guys. I got some of Mell and Feroz but didn't spot you going around when I was out there. Next time!
John

Here is another of Mela and one of Feroz

Thanks anyway John. It was very annoying not to be on top form, I could feel it coming which was even more frustrating, but there's always next year.....

Here are the pics from the official guys.

The really annoying thing is that the guy putting my car onto the transporter and taking it off at the other end mananged to seriously ground the front and has bent my 'smile' and trashed my fibreglass splitter. Sadly I don't think I have much comeback as it was a favour and didn't cost me anything. Oh well, off to 964.co.uk to remind myself how to straighten a wonky smile !

Hi John

Good to meet you last week - and what a fabulous week it was. Would love to have copies of the pics you took, look great and very different to the "standard" track photos.

Look forward to meeting up again soon.

Regards

Video footage turned out ok rather than great, I have a couple of things to sort out before Donington in June with PCGB. Basic problem I have is that my roll cage is too high between the seats so instead of getting a good view of the road, I get a great view of the rear view mirror. You can see the track but not the horizon which is a pain in the arse. I tried offsetting the position of the camera further down the roll cage but then the passenger or seat gets in the way, angling the camera even a little gives me a great view of the grass verge!!

Vic - I have about 3 laps of SPA following you with some bits good through traffic. Managed to keep you in shot most of the time although there was no catching you once the you had made the jump to light speed down the straights [:D]. Will save as a file and send it to you or burn it on to disc when I figure out how its done.

Mel - The recording of your Cup car suffered from catastrophic technical failure (tape ran out [&:]) so I will have to try again sometime.

Other good bits of film were a lap chasing Gary's GT3 and some laps at the 'Ring - one following a nice chap in an Amythyst 964 RS who kindly offered to show us the way around, one where there was total carnage (8 crashed bikes and 4 crashed cars that I saw) and a couple that were relatively clear where I got buzzed by the 'Ring taxi and the 'Ring Jet Vipers amongst other things.

Technical stuff / computers not one of my strengths so I'll post stuff when I figure it out.

Regards

Doh!! And I slowed down so you could keep up [;)] -meant I could go thru Eau Rouge without braking at all!! [:D] Thought that would look good on film....
