How do I make a cigarette lighter continuously 'live'

Currently driving a pre-facelift Carrera on a daily commute. New Company car arriving shortly, so Porsche will spend a little more time wrapped up in my garage. I want to leave a battery conditioner on via the cigarette lighter, but am aware that it is not permanently 'live' currently.

Can anyone advise what is involved to make the cigarette lighter permanently 'live' ?

I think it would take quite a bit of effort to do it properly. There is one unused fuse holder on the fuse board (C5), and you could wire a permanent feed to it from one of the other inputs to block C, and then run the output from C5 to the lighter socket.

It seems a bit extreme for your purpose, and you still have to run a lead out of the door to plug in to the mains. As has been suggested, it would be easy to connect an adapter straight to the battery, and run the wire out the top of the front compartment lid. The battery mounting terminals have convenient M6 screws in them, ideal for the 1/4" eyelets that the adapters come with.

My OPC did it for free when I took it to them to check the power to the heated seat element.
Did they wire up the lighter socket to be permanent, or fix the power adapter to the battery?

Sorry.. should have been clearer... they made the power supply to the socket permanent.

Works well too!
