How full should an FSH be?

I'm looking to buy a 964 and have seen a few with about 100,000 miles on them. I would greatly appreciate your views on what constitues a Full Service History, as well as some info on what bits will be in need of replacement.

The book says service every 20,000km (LHD car) or every year, but what's the norm? The car I've just looked at had been serviced every 20,000km, but with almost 2 years between each. Should this be an issue?

Secondly, what should I expect to have been relaced (or to need replacing) on a 150,000km (ca. 100,000 miles) car?

How long do engines and gearboxes last before they need major work?

I know you guys know, so please fill me in so I can buy wisely.

Ideally one that had been serviced every year, but some (many) owners spend many hours tinkering with service items - brakes, fluids etc. in between. If this was done well then the service stamps become less of an issue.
IMHO current condition is the major factor on old car and low mileage with long idle periods might be worse than high but sensible mileage - not thrashing from cold, washing regularly through the winter etc.

I consider that it is much more important to have a file full of Invoices/Receipts, then a book full of stamps[8|]

Look up the buyer's Guides on John Miles' site www.porsche964.co.uk

If you require more info please ask.

Thanks for the response so far.

When do the engine and gearbox need to be rebuilt/overhauled?
Which parts need should have been replaced/need replacement by 100,0000 miles?
