How long for a RMS to go?

Just had my S serviced at Guildford and they have told me that I need the RMS replacing. As it was only replaced 8 months ago (yes done 12k miles in 8 months) this is a bit concerning. They are going to contact Porsche UK to see if it can be done on a good will. It was originaly replaced by HR Owen at Stevenage.

Will keep you posted

The first one was replaced on the 24,000 service just before the 2 years was up and done under warrantee.

I have had mine changed also.. My car is coming up to its 2 years in November, but I have only done 12,000 miles. I have heard that the RMS fix is not actually a fix since the problem is in the tollerances in the casting/endfloat. The seal obviously will not fix this since basically this is an engine problem (tollerances).
My OPC said that the repair would be further warranty covered but guessed at a year only..
Lets face it, the car will not fall apart because of this, it just leaks oil (hopefully not enough to contaminate the clutch!..

I have the good news that Porsche GB will replace it as a good will gesture[:D] I was also told that it is rare for them to go again

As a supplimental question, has anyone had their clutch replaced? if so, after how many miles

Thanks
Graeme
