How long should air con gas last before recharge?

Air condensers, air con rads and a regas were all done at the end of September 2009...since then I have done about 6000 miles. The aircon does not seem to be blowing out cold air...it is coolish, but not cold. Ideas anyone?
Thanks Debbie

Could be the dreaded stone through the condenser. Mine lasted 6 weeks from new before one met that fate..........[:(]

You need to find out if it has a leak first, as it sounds like it is low on gas. Also take a look under the driver's side sill, and you will see two 20mm pipes running from front to back. Look for bright green oily patches. If so, that's your problem. (Ask me how
I know!).

If they look OK, take it to an aircon specialist, and they can do a leak test. Or go to Kwik-Fit and get them to regas it. They should check for leaks, and if they can't re-gas it, they don't charge.

Mine has the 2 pipes slightly squashed from some moron who didnt know how to jack properly (before i bought the car), do you think that affects the coolness much?

If they are only slightly squashed, and not ruptured, you shouldn't have a problem. One of mine had pinholed where it goes through one of the plastic clips.
