How many left

Interesting, just been on website howmanyleft.co.uk.

As at 2013 for Porsche 944's there were a total of 1268 registered as being on the road & 1983 SORN.

Of that for 944 Turbo's, there were 237 registered on the road & 253 SORN

Confirmation for all Turbo owners that these are actually quite a rarity which to some extent justifies the cost of keeping them on the road, (trust me I know)

One day they might actually be worth some money !!

Not that the money is really relevant as I just get so much fun & enjoyment from driving it

Yep, and just 23 Turbo S's left on the road, with a further 26 SORN'd. From memory, there were 75 cars to start with so 26 must have been scrapped if the numbers are correct.

There were 75 Turbo S Silver Rose cars sold in the UK, but quite a few more Turbo S cars made in 1988 in different colours but with the M758 Option Code. For the DVLA records I think they are all lumped together so there are even more scrapped or exported than expected.

Agree, aren't cars that have been off the road before SORN came into place (31st Jan 1998) excluded from the figures??

Indeedy. One must remember that some cars are not even registered correctly. Whilst Porsche may be better than others take my old Jaguar XJ40. Whilst there was no denying that it was an XJ40 XJR 4.0 (it was a known car to many people, and had history of being a demo car for Jaguar themselves), the logbook simply said 'Jaguar' and the engine size in the relevant category. That is before you get to re-registered cars and cock ups upon transferring plates (A friend's Mercedes Sl500 is simply a 'Mercedes' in the Logbook again).
