How many of each colour?

Our region has just had a write-up in 'Lancashire Magazine', and there's a bit in it about a Maritime Blue 944 being one of only 3 in that colour. Does anyone know where to get that information? I'd love to know how many Azure Blue (LY5D) 944's were built, and even better, how many of those were Cabriolets....

Anyone?

I know - I've seen 1 Azure Blue one on the forums somewhere. Common as muck aren't they! There are times I wish I'd gone for a really rare colour such as Guards Red [;)]

Guards red is very rare because it is most of the time pink[:D] mine is now back to red after a session of polishing at the weekend

...please don't get Mr Sims started, otherwise he'll see red[]. Hopefully, he will be at the Ace as we speak....[:D]

We all know that deep down inside Mr Sims is jealous and really wanted a red but won't admit to it he couldn't really of wanted a black car as it takes a lot of effort to keep clean as I found out with me previous car

My first 944 was a very faded zermatt silver but I wanted what I considered then to be the best colour , So I repainted her black. It didnt take me very long to realise that black was a major pain in the ass to keep clean/swirl free etc. I dont think I would ever own a black car again for that reason alone. Looks great when the paint is new and fresh though I admit.

I had a black Renault 5 GTT many years ago and swore I'd never have another black car. This time last year I had 2 black MX5s and currently I have 2 back Audis...

OK I'm back now.

Black is a pain but given the choice between Gourds Pink and black I'll stick with having to dry black thoroughly after washing and not washing in the sunshine, and not washing when the metal is hot etc. etc.

Metallics are much easier to keep clean and look great (assuming they aren't Silver Rose Pink. [;)]

I have one of those Flash thingies - I only use it for a final rinse with the water filter function and it works well enough I just let the car air dry and it isn't spotty / streaky. It's not perfect mind, and mine are metallic black which is slightly more forgiving.

George,

Don't beleive a everything you read in print, after all in the picture you are talking about is a bloke called Paul Baker! I found the information about the amount made in that colour from the register here (Paul was very helpful) and Porsche GB, and there were 5 not 3 made, Porsche are not allowed to give the information out, but than can give very large clues[;)][;)][;)].

A lot of people have made comments

Some love it[;)]......... Some hate it[:-]

Nobody Ignores it [:)]
