How many RHD 912's were made

Hi,
I've just bought a 1965 RHD 912, I've heard only 50 were made - any idea if this is correct? Was it 50 in the UK or 50 in total. Looks like this is the place to find this sort og thing out! Yours curiously.

As you can see from the responses its pretty hard to know, Porsche kept very sketchy records at that time, I have spoken to many 'authorities' including Dr Brett Johnson and they say under a 100. I am in the process of researching this matter, apparently there are records at Porsche but they are in no filed order, so it means someone going through them to do the research, I have volunteered my services and am waiting to hear.

Porsche GB can give you the answer, along with the original build spec of your car and the build date. It will cost ÂŁ50 or ÂŁ75 from your local dealer.

I still think it's worth contacting PGB. This is an excerpt from a letter of authenticity that came with my 67 911S

Nick, I am hoping to go to Porsche AG to find out how many 912's and variants were produced, not just rhd. The aim is to find difinative numbers of lhd, rhd, targas, soft targas, sunroofs etc. A pretty mammoth job, but someone needs to do it! Its all for the 40th anniversary... hopefully.

Fraser,

Just out of interest what colour is your 12, as it looks similar to the original colour of my car, which I thinking of going back to.

Are you going to the ACE cafe (14th), it would be nice to meet you + see the wagon?

Mine is not it's original colour, it was resprayed maybe 8 years ago (can't quite remember from the receipts) I'm guessing the current colour might be light ivory but that's just a guess. Unfortunately I'm not around for the Ace get together this time and it looks like it'll be the last of the year. Hopefully I'll bump into all you guys soon though.

I think I know that car you have ...... did you get it from Alex?

Any way as for the RHD issue I spoke to Mike Smith a while back have a chat with him he had a record of all the 912's RHD and the reg numbers ......[;)]

That's the one. It used to live in London until earlier this year when the original engine died. Alex bought it and replaced the engine with one from a '67 912 (I think judging by the engine number).
