How many RHD GTS's

Whilst I do own a 997 I've been thinking for a while that I should have an affair with a 928. How many manual 928 GTS's were imported into the UK ? I want black or blue and I've seen the one at Malton but at £25k it will be practically undriveable. Is it worth being patient or is this spec just too rare ?

Hi :)

I am unsure how many, but it was thousands....25k is a bit steep to say the least.....an average GTS will go for around 10k to 15k...and excellent one will be around 16k to 20k....for 25k it would have to be perfect with EXTREMELY low mileage (less than 30,000)

There are usually several being sold in the Uk at any one time...compared to a 997 they are relatively simple (electronics wise) ,,,think more...brutal power lol :)

I will ask around and see if any good ones are available....and let you know....

All the best Brett :)

I heard a figure of 15 RHD manual GTS's but my memory may be wrong - I was looking a while ago but gave up after I missed out on probably the best one in the UK - they do come up, but they're rare.

Hi Phillip :)

Well done ..you are absolutely correct :)

There were only 10 to 15 black/blue rhd GTS brought into Uk...from a total of around 45 of all colours....

There is a red GTS on AUTOTRADER at the moment at around 18k I think...

If Henkus only wants black or blue....I think he will have to wait a year or 2 for one to come up.....

I "think" there was a PCGB member who was selling a black one for 20k with no offers a while ago.....if Henkus emails me...I will tell him how to find him...

All the best Brett :)

Brett, Philip,

Thanks for that. The car that is just too much is at special cars of Malton. £26k for a 928 seems a bit toppy ! http://www.specialistcarsltd.co.uk/porsche_sales/Black928gts.htm

I did see a GT the other day on Pistonheads that was billed as a GT with a GTS body kit. Did the GT's ever leave the factory like that ? Also is there much difference between the GT and the GTS as a 928 experience ?

Finally, if I do manage to track one down (oh I forgot to mention manual too !) can you recommend someone who can check it out for damage/authenticity ?

Thanks for your help.

Henry

Hi HENKUS :)

To the best of my knowledge ...no GT ...EVER came out of the factory with a GTS body kit on it....it was probably added afterwards....possibly because of an accident :(

When you find one...depending on area its in...ask here and we will recommend someone.....either an owner....(free) or a pro (paid)

All the best Brett :)
