I am trying to find out have many 930's were sold in the UK (not imports) and how many are still in existence. I seem to remember reading an article some ago which suggested a lot of these cars were written off and perhaps only several hundred are left.

i have recentley bought this one. I think 1034 were made but how many are left.... yes i would like to know too.

Nice Car.

I also have a black 930 with linen/black interior made in 1987. It has 76,000 miles on the clock.

What year is yours and what is the mileage?

How many? Varies depending on sources!
How about 12946 total 930 production, including, would you believe, 930 UK RHD cars. Seems too much of a coincidence to me....still, stranger things have happened.

That really is some coincidence!

Does that figure include the 3.0 production?

Where can I get production numbers from?

I've also toyed with buying the 3.0 version but have never driven one. How does it compare to the 3.3?

Regards

The 3.0 Turbo is lighter and better balanced. It may not have the torque of the 3.3 (although it has plenty), but point to point on normal roads I found little difference and actually preferred the 3.0 for it's driveability.
A 3.3 with 385bhp is an entirely different matter. Took it for a run to Walton Hall at the weekend and had to concentrate all the time....but what fun!

I have a late 930 with 5 speed G50. I believe there were 600+ made worldwide but would like to know how many RHD .And of those how many left in UK. Maybe John Ward (if still following this thread ) will know how many are registered in the club?

Info on 1989 930 / G50 cars? I don't know the figure for UK RHD cars, other than 50 930LE's.
Total production for 930 / G50 was ( I believe) 857 coupes, 115 targas and 244 cabriolets.

Trickier to answer than you may think, as the on-line registration system is not up and running as yet, and registration is voluntary anyhow.
Additionally, the numbers fluctuate as people either join or leave PCGB, or acquire / dispose of cars.....and then there are those earlier cars registered with PCGB as 911 Turbos but with incorrect 911 chassis numbers!

Numbers of 911 Turbo's on the PCGB Register list.

As of the end of July, the Club Office have listed 708 cars in the clubs 911 Turbo Register.

Each month they send me a list of what is happening in the Registers, and some statistics like how many joined and how many have left the register/club. During the month of July 16 new members joined the 911 Turbo Register, and 2 left, leaving 708 on the books, and no I don't know them all!

Just to fine tune the numbers a tad as I;m thinking of venturing into the Turbo world, how many 1988/1989 G50 Turbo Cabs were sold in the UK?

Not many....but I can't get any closer than 78 in total between 1987 and 1989: I don't have separate figures for the 5 speed ones.

I have just read in P Morgan book "Original Porsche 911" the following: -
1988 930 Cabrio: US=591, non US = 242, 1989 930 Cabrio: US=600, non US = 244...of the non US how many were RHD is not mentioed

Do all turbo chassis numbers begin 930***** ?

The early 911 Turbo chassis numbers start with 930, the later model VIN has 93 as the model recognition code.
