Been up for sale for a while.

The 16V cock-up would make me think twice about paying the trader a profit on the car, but it could be nice despite the seller!

There's enough in those photos to have me sniffing suspiciously. The front bumper looks like it's taken a knock at least once and the speaker covers inside aren't the ones that should have come with the car.

It's not as original and pristine as it would like to be, and you can bet that the dealer has a HUGE margin on it. However it still may be a nice car, as Paul said.

Oli.

Looks to me like the rubbing strips have been removed for some reason and replaced slightly too high.

hmmm - I wonder what double din radio that is?

I don't know the answer to that but I have recently spotted that Parrot have a shallow fitting double DIN head unit which I believe would fit the 944 nicely without the awkward "fits but at a funny angle" look. Think it's called a Parrot Asteroid. No CD player is the key to the shallow depth.

I would not be so sure.

£23k is the price of a modest Golf, and for the collector its not a fortune.

The picky details mentioned can easily be sorted.

I see a pretty genuine car, from a great year (86), with diff, 12 way seats which I have never seen before, lovely colour lovely trim.
Its what I would remember as a top notch London spec car

Long time ?,.....time will tell. [:)]

If the wheels are original its an '87 model as they are late offset ones and the rubbing strips are certainly too high.

You would want to have a very good look at it though

It does appear to have a bottle of genuine Porsche screenwash in the passenger door though [:)]

Not keen on the 32 inch plasma personally.
I notice the optionally " External Transmission Oil Cooler" what benefits does that bring? Are normal transmission oil coolers intèrnal?

They're not going to be worth anything close to that for a long time yet.

How close is 'close'?

Martin sold his late Turbo with around 50k miles recently for circa £18k.

Throttleshop also sold a low owner, late Turbo with 90k miles for circa £17k.

Not that far away really.

The external helical cooler was an option after the first year or so.

The option wheels on that car are glorious!

They were a forced option for 1988, but my car didn't come with them unfortunately. It had the 996 17" wheels fitted when Jeremy bought it. I recently bought a set of the correct wheels and after looking at those pictures, the thought of fitting them makes me ever-so slightly tumescent... [:D]
