How much did tuning your 997 increase insurance?

Hi there,

Just thought before I think of adding aftermarket exhaust system etc I would get a feel for how much some simple non Porsche mods added as a % to your insurances. Don't worry about the actual ££ just trying to get a % figure for a rough idea

Thanks[8|]

Its best to advise your insurance provider of any modifications [8D]
Irrespective if it enhances engine output etc
I recently had a new non Porsche exhaust system fitted (retained cats) went for Supersprint
Locktons thanked me for advising and no increase in policy

10% after gaining 100hp by replacing 3.4L engine with a 3.8L.

Absolutely agree about telling insurance company/broker in writing + DVLA is an engine change (serial # and cc).

I asked the question prior to installing a new exhaust for better acoustics ,No increase in insurance after upgrading to a 200 cat cell CG loud exhaust on my gen1 997tt.

As Ralph has already mentioned, I would seriously consider obtaining a written acknowledgement of any modifications so as to avoid complications in the event of a future claim.
Regards,
Clive.

That's amazing the only time I have considered aftermarket was a superchip in an A8 4.2TDI and the insurance would have DOUBLED had I fitted it. (That was after shopping round to see if any better deals!)

Might try try asking a few to see what they say about the 4S
