How much for a gasket change

As a ball part figure how much should I expect to pay for a specialist to replace the head gasket? A work collegue who has had a few 944's and replaced a couple of gaskets now has offered to help me do it for the princly sum of £300 to help fund his rally activities. Not sure if this is good value or not.
