Hi guys, quick question:

How much would you pay for a 996 4S manual - 2003, 43k miles, 3 owner car including the current owner and just serviced literally 2k miles ago and FPSH, midnight blue, savannah interior.

Not been checking prices for a few months, but around £25k (plus or minus). I would not worry too much about owners, but regular stamps in the service book and I like to see invoices to back that up.

Some owners seem to skip an annual service or two if doing low mileage. Some views that not changing the oil regularly is cause of IMS issues. I'm not getting into whether that is the case or not but it adds to the view that annual services are important even in low mileage cars.
As far as price goes even if you paid £1k or £2k over optimum price given prices do not seem to be reducing for C4S 996s, you will still likely be quids in a year or two down the line. Just think if you spent the same on a Boxster or even non-Porsche car, you won't be looking at getting anything like that back on it when you come to sell.

It is something I am considering but let us see. If I were to sell it would only be to go in to another Porsche product. I like my cars Porkie! :D

Yea servicing isnt something to be skimped on now for the 996. Luckily the service history on my car before I owned it was all done by Porsche Centre's and done with metronomic consistency. As a result, I cannot complain - it has been a fantastic car to own. Wherever the onus has been on me to make repairs or adjustments I have always got them done. Case in point is the suspension that I want refreshing regardless of whether I keep the car or not.

Generally, owning the 996 has been thoroughly fantastic and there is also a fair chance I may not sell and just keep it to 'commence my collection' as it were, but as I say let us see! If I go for another 911 or something which will require more input than I can afford I may need to sell it... so yup!
