How Remove Bumpers

Hi All, Can anyone tell me how to go about removeing the front and rear bumpers on my 1988 3.2 Carrera Coupe Sport. I expect when you know how it is not to difficult.
Trevor

Hi Trevor,Front Bumper first.

Open up the indicators disconnect the wiring here and push the cables through the rear of the lights so that they are unattached when you take the bumper off.The long lateral rubber at the front of the bumper has a screw at either end, unscrew these.Ease the long rubber off the bumper, this is held with nylon poppers which push into a series of sleeves on the bumper{7 or 8 i think wise to renew these.}With the rubber removed you will then see the 4 locking nuts which hold the bumper onto the impact shocks. Before you remove these disconnect the bellows at either end .As yo ease the bumper off you will have to disconnect the hoses from the washer jets.
Back Bumper

Loosen the no plate lights and pull off terminals as the cables will have to pull through.Loosen off the bellows held by 5mm nuts on the inside.
To gain access to the nuts which secure the bumper {same idea as front}you will have to remove the corner rubbers. There is a small rubber pellet on these at the over rider side of each rubber, pop these out and there is a self tapping screw in there. This was seized solid on mine but as i was renewing all the rubbers i just ripped it off.The other side of the corner rubbers is bolted through but as you have now exposed the lock nuts which hold the bumper on they can wait for now.
Now disconnect the earth wiring on the fog lights.
Remove bumper lock nuts it should now pull off.
phew wheres that kettle.
Funny trevor your taken them off and heres me just put mine on.
Im guessing youre gettin them painted?

Thanks for that Liam, I presume that you remove the spoilers after the bumper is off?
Have to re-paint the bumpers they look horrible with paint peeling/ bubbleing. lol
Trevor

The rear spoiler can be removed after the bumper has been taken off.The front spoiler is not attached to the bumper.
Trevor I ve just done everything from the bottom of the wings down and also the cills, what a difference it makes really sharpens the car up,done all the rubbers to.

The bumpers look fairly easy to do. The hard, ok impossible, part for me was getting the rear valance assy off.

EDIT: I had a look today and it would seem the best way to remove the valance is to remove the whole bumper assy complete.
