Ok ready for the comments but please can someone tell me how to reset the trip in my car on the dash, i cannot find the usual button anywhere

This gets everyone the first time [:D] Assuming it's an oval dash it's a button hidden in the middle of the fake air vent that's to the left of the main gauges. Best not to reset it when driving as it can put extra wear on the cogs.

Second what Peters said I did attempt to reset on my previous 1986 Lux while moving not knowing
and stripped cogs on odometer - speedo then packed up not sure that was linked as had been a bit
temperamental before. But resetting while moving can definitely break tripometer.
Cheers

I had to ask the same thing. Was disappointed to find out that the button on mine does nothing at all. i assume it was broken due to resetting while moving. [:(]

Sometimes the button that you press gets misaligned from the electrical contact behind it. This happened to mine and can be easily realigned if you take off the oval shaped dash surround that also incorporates the central air vents. It's only a few screws on the side and underneath of the dash and can be done with the steering wheel in place. Easier with the steering wheel off (but if you're feeling lazy [;)])

The button is missing from my dash - is it possible to get replacements? I have been using a pencil to do the reset.
